I first ran for Village Council in 2019 because I saw a need for a change in the Council. The same people kept cycling through and I felt the thinking and decisions had become stale and needed a different perspective. While I did not win that election, I was unanimously appointed to serve on Council by finishing the remaining two years of Mayor Wheeler’s term. This appointment gave me an opportunity to serve the residents of the Village for those two years. I feel there is still much I can contribute and I am running this year to continue the process of serving the residents of Richfield..
I have no aspirations of a long-term presence in the political landscape of the Village, but I want to try and bring new ideas and the involvement of different residents. Being elected to Village Council is something that should be an honor, something that’s a civic duty and done for the betterment of the community. A position on Council shouldn’t be done for personal or financial gain, or as a stepping stone to higher office. Serving the Village of Richfield and its residents is something that I would like to continue to do, so I can help to guide the community into the future while preserving the history and charm of the Village.
I hope the residents of Richfield will allow me to continue to be part of the leadership of the community by electing me to Richfield Village Council on November 2nd.
I would like to have the opportunity to continue to serve the Village of Richfield by helping to ensure that the decisions that are made by Council are in the best interest of the community. I continue to see a need to bring new idea and a new voice to Council and break away from the same ideas that seem to have become ingrained in the thinking of some in the Village.
I’ve been a resident of Richfield for 16 years but I have been immersed in the community since 1989. In that time, I’ve developed a deep and passionate love for the community and an interest in its current welfare, as well as in the direction of the future of Richfield. I don’t want to see Richfield struggle with poorly managed growth that strains our infrastructure and degrades the ambiance that sets Richfield apart from other communities. I would like to stay as part of a forward-thinking leadership team that works closely with the residents to develop and implement ideas and projects that benefit the Village as a whole.
I ran for Village Council in 2019, lost the election by a very small margin and was appointed to Village Council by a unanimous vote of the seated Council members. In the almost 2 years I have served the Village I’ve worked in the best interest of the Village residents and feel that by keeping my seat on Council I can carry on with my service to the Village of Richfield. During my current term I have donated my time and Council salary back to the community and charitable organizations that serve the area.
I have over 20 years of experience in managing a team, establishing and maintaining budgets and working with a group towards a common goal. In my present position as a Quality Manager, I analyze defects in products and processes and look for ways to improve them. I have a strong work ethic that has made me successful in my professional life. I know I can use my experience to work with the other members of Council to benefit Richfield now, and to provide for a sound, wisely planned future.
I feel that being a public servant is an honor and a duty to the community. I would be humbled if the citizens of Richfield would entrust me to help guide the future of the Village.
