While growth of the Village is inevitable, we need to manage that growth with forethought. Richfield should not lose the charm that attracted most of the residents. Making sure the Village intelligently allows both business and residential development without sacrificing the quality of life that our residents enjoy is incredibly important. Growth is not a bad thing, but it needs to be wisely managing to be a keystone for Richfield’s future
The residents of Richfield should be able to find out what the issues brought before Council are and how they will impact them. We all have seen legislature passed and wondered where it originated and how it’s passage will affect us. If you choose to keep me on Council, I will continue be open, honest and transparent with the residents. I will try and answer any question asked of me as fully as I can, and will work with you to show how changes may affect you.
Candidates for Council always indicate that they feel the infrastructure is important to them. That’s good, it shows we all say we care. If I am re-elected to Council, I will continue to work with our Mayor, the Fire and Police Chiefs and the Director of Public Service to make sure we actually improve the quality of our infrastructure and Emergency Services.
Our roads are in reasonably good shape considering the amount of vehicular traffic on them. With currently planned development, and future business and residential expansion, we need to plan and execute improvements intelligently. We cannot allow our infrastructure to deteriorate because we failed to plan.
In June 2021 Cleveland Magazine rated Richfield as the safest place to live in Northeast Ohio. This is a complement to our Police, Dispatch and Fire Departments, and shows the extremely high level of service they provide. They help make Richfield a great place to live and raise our families. An increase in both business and residential development can put a strain on those services. We need to stay ahead of potential demand by proactively providing our Emergency Services with the best in personnel and the latest technology in equipment.
I’ve lived in Richfield for 16 years, and for much of that time I didn’t really pay attention and allowed the local government to run itself. Richfield seems to have become stagnant as the same group of people cycle through the Village Government. A few meaningful projects are implemented every few years, but many pieces of legislature spend a great deal of time being discussed before they are shelved. It seems that we’re good at planning, but, less so at executing those plans. If you keep me on Village Council, I will continue to work to complete projects within the Village and not just talk about them.
I have no agenda or underlying motives. I have no alliance with any other candidate, or current Village official. I would like to continue as a member of Richfield Village Council to serve the residents and the community. I will continue to provide a fresh and unbiased voice on Council if you chose to keep me on Council on November 2th.
